Hello Wood-Mizer friends and fans!
I wanted to send you a quick update on the past 2 weekend tournaments. On June 21st, I competed at the Midwest Championships in Madison, WI. It was a fundraiser for Huntington's Disease and the event raised over $5000. I won first place in the log rolling winning my matches 3-1, 3-1, 3-2. It was the first log rolling tournament of the season and it felt good to be competing and winning again! I wore my favorite Wood-Mizer hat and I think it brought me good luck! I ended up in 4th place in the boom run, just 0.2 out of 2nd place! The field of competition is very strong and we all raced well.
This past weekend I was in Columbus, Georgia from June 25th-30th for the Aflac Outdoor Games & Stihl Timbersports Championships. It was a great event and I was proud to go home with the silver medal around my neck! I was so close to winning, but the stars were not lined up for me that day. I was proud of my efforts and held my head high! Once again, I am amazed at the level of competition and heart, soul, and determination put forth by each athlete. I wore my WM hat again in the semi-finals and finals giving excellent exposure on tv and in the stands. Speaking of fans in the stands....the folks in Georgia are absolutely incredible! I have never given out so many posters and signed so many autographs! I know I signed my name a few thousand times over the weekend. The media coverage was excellent and I had a lot of time to interact with fans, young & old, after I was done competing each day.

Hi again Wood-Mizer friends and fans!
After a few days of training up north with some up and coming competitors, we were off to Hayward for the Lumberjack World Championships. This was another dream come true weekend with winning the GOLDEN TRIFECTA!!! I ripped off the 2 fastest times in the finals once again winning the boom run. My family was all smiles!!
I also won the log rolling with my first match 2-0 against Greta, second match 2-0 vs Olivia, and then 3-1 against Lizzie in the semi finals. In the finals, I had a SUPER MATCH against Shana Martin and I won 3-0 with all falls on the 4 log. After the Stillwater match, I wasn't going off that log for anything!! This was my 3rd straight log rolling title at LWC and I love to compete in Lumberjack Bowl! Many thanks to the board of directors, sponsors, volunteers, and spectators for making this awesome event happen. If you have not ever attended...this is one not to miss!
The 3rd win of the weekend was my relay team taking home the top honors, which is always fun! We had a blast the whole weekend with Mom, Dad, Joe & Sally at my parents cabin...the weather was perfect and the pontoon, floaties, jet skis, good food, and laughs kept everyone having fun! Quality time with my family was a real treat on a competition weekend!!!!!
I will let you know when the air dates are out for the Stihl Series on ESPN2 in Nov. & Dec. Thanks again to my incredible sponsors for supporting me in my best season yet...25 years in the sport and still winning!! I am off to Eau Claire this Saturday to compete in log rolling at the Chippewa Valley Games. I will be wearing my Wood-Mizer gear with pride! I hope to see some of you there!
Rollin' On!

Greetings Wood-Mizer friends and fans! - More Pictures
THANKS to everyone who came out to watch at the STIHL World Championships and STIHL Timbersports Series finals in Stillwater. It was so fun to see all of you! Your signs, cheering, and support mean so much to both of us!! It was an incredible weekend full of competition at the highest level. I am the 2007 World Champion in the boom run which was a goal I set out to do and a dream come true. It was quite emotional for both Niel and I when I laid down the fastest run each heat in the finals on the world's hardest boom! WOW! Reality was setting in and happy tears were brimming in my eyes...the moment was finally here!
I was 2nd in the log rolling, winning 3 great matches (Olivia 3-0, Greta 3-0, Lizzie 3-1) and then losing to Shana Martin in the finals. Congrats to Shana on her victory! I am thrilled with the silver medal, but disappointed I didn't have a better final match....sorry...but that is sports. I walked away smiling knowing I tried my best and counting down the days until we would meet on the log again at the next competition...only 7. I will be ready and waiting!
Winning the Overall World Champion title for the 2nd year in a row was really special because it combines the log rolling and boom running. The honor recognizes the top overall athlete which is something I am always striving for. Besides, it was awesome to win a new STIHL chain saw! I was using it 3 days later to buck fire wood at the cabin and loving every minute of it.
On Sunday I had fun riding on the STIHL truck in the parade with 75,000 people lining the streets of Stillwater. Fans freaked out for the beef jerky, posters, and foam axes!! The Stihl Series boom run finals are always close and each and every girl gives it 110%. I am so proud of each competitor! It is a head-to-head format with the top 8 competitors. I was seeded 2nd. I won my first race, and then lost by 0.05 seconds to Lizzie (who eventually was the champion) in the semi finals. I took home the bronze medal by defeating Tanya in the final race. Another successful podium finish! If you were there to see Aruba (our black lab) run the boom, you definitely got a special treat! She just learned how 2 weeks ago and seemed to be the hit of the day!! Our celebration dinner was at Idaho Chucks....Ymmmmm!! Thanks to STIHL Inc., Dave Eckberg with St. Croix Events/Lumberjack Days, and the International Log Rolling Association for hosting this world-class tournament!
I will let you know when the air dates are out for the Stihl Series on ESPN2 in Nov. & Dec. Thanks again to my incredible sponsors for supporting me in my best season yet...25 years in the sport and still winning!!

Top of the morning Wood-Mizer fans!
We just drove in from finishing the first stop in the 2007 STIHL Timbersports
Series in Decatur, AL and it was AWESOME! It is always so fun to walk into a new
season and a big venue! I was ready to run!! The drive down was great with an
overnight visit with my brother, Jack, in Chicago and then a stop at Wood-Mizer's World
Headquarters in Indianapolis. Friday was a media day with 2 news interviews and 1
radio in studio. It was fun to watch a news reporter run the boom. He had some very
worthy falls on his 3 attempts!! We hit the golf course in the afternoon which is always a
good time and makes me happy I am a log roller and boom runner!
Anyway, my qualifying time was fine, making it into the top 8. I had a good
quarter final run against Tanya Fischer and then defeated Lizzie Hoeschler in the semifinals.
YEAH! The finals were against Mandy Erdmann and it wasn't my best run.
Unfortunately, my start wasn't as quick as usual and I went around the wrong side of the
barrel at the turn around. RRRRrrrrrr! I guess some days are not meant to be. I must
have some connection to 2nd place here...I had the same result last year! I really want to
win a STIHL Series boom this season and I was hoping to get the job done in Alabama.
It is time to get back in the training pond. I'll be ready for the finals in Stillwater!! The
crowds in Decatur were fantastic as usual. They endured the heat and rain and never left
an empty seat in the whole venue. THANK YOU! I always love having time to talk to
fans and sign autographs.
Happy 4th of July...thank a vet...be proud to be an American!
Rollin' On!

Hi Wood-Mizer fans!
I hope you are all healthy and happy! 2007 is already flying by and some exciting things have been happening for us that I wanted to share with you. First we bought our brand new LT40 sawmill. My husband, Niel, and I are very excited about owning our very own Wood-Mizer! We always enjoy milling lumber together...it seems like more fun than work! It is great to be outside working with wood! Right after we brought the mill home we had an exhibition day on March 15th with 150 3rd graders and high school wood shop students at the Environmental Learning Center in Stillwater, MN. Some aspen trees needed to be cleared. It was a fun-filled day of new experiences and learning. The kids LOVED the Wood-Mizer and they were talking about it for days! Niel did a fantastic job with the presentation and they were mesmerized as board after board came off the mill. The 3rd graders screamed and cheered when I started operating the mill...Girls Rock!! They were so excited to get the Wood-Mizer coloring books...it went along with our emphasis of following your dreams. I know they will always remember that day!
A month later I had an opportunity to be on a feature segment of a reality TV show called the Ultimate Road Trip. East Coast fans....tune into the YES Network! It was a really fun day! I loved meeting the cast of 6 die hard Yankees fans (Eddie, Dougy, Brenda, Justin, Indio, and Shelli) who are competing for 6 months to win as many tickets as they can to all the Yankees baseball games (160 total!) both home and away. They all live together in an apartment in NYC, but compete fiercely to win challenges for game tickets. They had a "Lumberjack Size Challenge" when they came to play the Minnesota Twins....which meant learning to crosscut saw, axe throw, and log roll from a world champion! Niel built a fantastic set and I had the pleasure of teaching new people something I'm passionate about. They had no idea what they were going to do for the challenge (to win tickets for the Oakland and Cleveland series) until they drove around the corner and I was rippin' through wood with a STIHL chainsaw! Of course they were told to bring a swimsuit with for the day! They loved the experience and it all filmed great! The TV show won an Emmy last season, and this episode had a huge spike in ratings! It will be aired 13 times. The producers, film crew, and "Road Trippers" had a great day in the life of Paul Bunyan! I enjoyed the whole experience. Here is a link to the web-site so you can read more about The Ultimate Road Trip:

A huge THANKS to the North East STIHL dealers, YES Network, Wood-Mizer, Oberto Beef Jerky, Starfish Point, Idaho Chucks, and the Hudson YMCA for supporting me in this event!
I look forward to meeting many of you at the Wood-Mizer 25th Anniversary Celebration in Indianapolis in October! Until then, I will be runnin' and rollin' logs with a smile on my face!

Hello friends, family, and fans!
NBC is very excited about log rolling these days. Tune in to NBC's The TODAY Show (7am-10am CST) this Thursday, Aug. 3rd, to watch me and Tyler Fischer rockin' and rollin' (on logs of course!) in the heart of downtown Manhattan, NY on the plaza. Hopefully one of the co-host will be brave enough to try it! Niel and I are really looking forward to a fun day or 2 in NYC, especially after a 20 hour drive!
Also soon to hit the tube (I think this week or next) you will see "Ross the Intern" from Jay Leno's Tonight Show learning how to boom run from Jamie Fischer and log roll from Shana Martin. He attended LWC in Hayward this past weekend and was quite the hit!
I had a fantastic weekend of competing and even more fun with my family at my parents cabin! It was so awesome to have all 7 of us there! I won the log rolling defeating Shana Martin (3-2) in an awesome match (5 falls on the 4 log) in the semi-finals...it was a lot of fun out on the log, but certainly a nail biter for my family! Then I beat Mandy Erdmann 3-1 in the finals to defend my title in Hayward at the Lumberjack World Championships. It is a great feeling to win at Lumberjack Bowl. I've competed there for 23 years in a row! Jack, Joe, and Sally were super with taking pictures and video for me. The whole family helped me hand out foam axes, frisbees, key chains, beef jerky, coloring books, posters, etc. from my sponsors.
In the boom run, I had the fastest time Friday, 2nd fastest Saturday, and in the finals on Sunday I took the bronze. Mandy and I had a photo finish (which she won), and Abby Hoeschler beat us by 0.01 to win the title! It was unbelievably close!
Have a great rest of summer everyone! I hope our paths cross soon.

Family & Friends,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for coming down to Stillwater to support me during the World Championships and STIHL Timbersports Series Boom Run Finals! I know some of you made it for every minute, some for one day, and some were there in spirit! I still felt it. I appreciate it more than words can express! I know how busy everyone is. After 23 years, it was a dream come true to compete here and show all of you and the rest of Stillwater/Minnesota how great this unique sport truly is. I was overwhelmed with all the support and encouragement via emails, calls, signs, hugs, and awesome LOUD cheering! I cherished every bit of it and will never forget it!
Here is a recap of how the weekend ended up for me:
I won the bronze medal in both the log rolling and boom running for the World Championships. Of course I wanted to win, but I am proud of a podium finish. I was very excited to become the World Champion in the overall (combining points in both events). It was one of my goals this season and it was really special to stand on top of the podium with the STIHL chain saw in my hand! I ended up in 4th in the STIHL Timbersports Boom Run Finals. This was not my ideal outcome, but the competition is fierce and I gave it 110%. A victory was not in the cards that day. I still walked away smiling and proud of my efforts.
I hope you all had a fun time watching and learning more about timbersports. I tried to get to each one of you in the stands, but sometimes my schedule didn't allow a lot of "down time". I know the heat chased many away as soon as I was done. After one day of rest, I was back in the practice pond today getting ready to compete again this weekend.
Upcoming events:
* 3:10pm on Wednesday 7/26 a radio interview on the "Lori & Julia Show" (107FM)
* Competing at the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward July 28-30th
* August 3rd, NBC TODAY SHOW live in Manhattan, NY
* A radio interview tomorrow for "Weekend America" (160 stations nation-wide). I don't know when it will be aired.
* Hospital visits with cancer kids at Children's Hospital to hand out posters, books, foam axes, and beef jerky with my cousin Charlie sometime in August.
* STIHL Timbersports Series to begin airing on ESPN2 on December 17th.
THANKS again for your support!! It made my day.
Have a great day!
